Biking

We did "Bike the Drive" this weekend, along with 20,000 of our close cycling friends--they closed Lake Shore Drive to cars and let bikes take over for a few hours in the morning--and it was a blast! The kids did wonderfully in the trailer, making it possible for us to do the whole northern part of the route. We had to backtrack once for a potty stop (just half a mile after we left the rest area, of course!) and stop twice to adjust helmets, but it was far better than we'd anticipated. Lots of fun.

Here we are in the parking garage, ready to buckle into the trailer. (We elected to optimize our precious kids-in-trailer time and drove downtown, instead of taking the train.) It was really cool riding up the ramp out of the garage with all our fellow cyclists!

The kids got pretty good at watching for other trailers and waving to their fellow tots. They also liked the bananas from the rest area.


And here we are at the post-ride festival--it was a lovely day in our fair city!
