He's three and a half weeks into life on Earth, and Nathan is quite a delight. He loves to eat and sleep and poop and get kisses from his big sister. (Lucky on that last one, because he'd find them awfully hard to avoid!) He's been threatening to get his nights and days switched back to wrong, which his parents do not think is funny, so we'll see what we can to do prevent that. Otherwise, he's really a lot of fun. He has a good sense of humor--or is this just the embodiment of "any port in a storm?"
Nathan has already rolled over several times. We're pretty sure that this means either (a) he is incredibly gifted, and all developmental milestones from here on will be a joke, or (b) his head--which he can lift quite impressively--is so heavy that it just carries him over onto his back! Get a load of his strong neck muscles!
Rachel is doing a great job of adjusting to her new role as big sister. As mentioned, there is no shortage of kisses around here. In fact, sometimes the promise of being able to kiss Baby Nathan goodnight makes bedtime more palatable for her--quite a feat! In the last week or so, Rachel has taken Baby Nathan camping with her in the living room,
plied him with toys when he looked bored in his car seat (or perhaps I should say piled),
and savored some time during his nap to bake raisin bread with Mom. Check out her cool apron! (Thanks, Aunt Mary!)
